ING launches referral application on Facebook

As CEO of international bank ING Direct, Peter Aceto likes to tweet about issues ranging from financial frugality to his travails in Amsterdam. His proactive followers on Twitter can now earn $13 for new customers they sign up as part of ING’s recently developed Orange Key Code Facebook application.

Within two weeks of launching Orange Key Code, ING’s “Save Your Money” Facebook page attracted 1,000 fans. While ING has not cut back on traditional marketing, ComScore data reveals that 59 percent of their web visitors also have Facebook profiles.
