Kraft's A1 runs a singing contest to give away free beef
Corporate Social Media Case Study: Kraft
A1, the makers of the famous steak sauce, has launched a YouTube contest called “Sing For Your Beef.” Contestants are asked to film themselves singing a song about the sauce with the best video — determined by the highest number of votes — winning 365 days’ worth of beef or an equivalent cash prize.
To participate, fans can enter in one of two categories: Original song or karaoke. For karaoke, A1 has written songs and uploaded the videos and lyrics to YouTube so that entrants can film themselves singing. However, most of the videos currently on the site have been written and performed by the fans.
Disclosure: Kraft is a Social Media Business Council member (and an awesome one at that!), but even if they weren’t, we’d write about them anyway.
