Looking again at Cisco's employee social media policy

Corporate Social Media Case Study: Cisco Systems

Last week, Intel posted its corporate social media guidelines.  Another well-written policy written earlier this year at Cisco Systems. Like Intel, Cisco’s policy is comprehensive and is written for employees who use a variety of social media tools such as social networks (MySpace, Facebook, etc.), blogs (both Cisco-specific and external non-Cisco), and wikis.  The language is straightforward and outlines what is permitted and not permitted.

Cisco’s approach and philosophy is best expressed right at the beginning: “Common sense is the best guide if you decide to post information in any way relating to Cisco.”
