Microsoft's social media project helps consumers manage health records
Corporate Social Media Case Study: Microsoft
Microsoft’s I Am Enabled movement is mixing several social media platforms in an attempt to help consumers make more informed health decisions and inspire change in America’s health care system.
To participate, users set up free online personal health accounts, allowing for easy flow of health records and other information between families and doctors. They also interact with related health videos on YouTube, informative Facebook polls, a health care Twitter feed, and a microsite with FAQs. The campaign and corresponding social media outlets are helping doctors receive more real-time medical information before patients even enter the waiting room.

Disclosure: Microsoft is a Social Media Business Council member (and an awesome one at that!), but even if they weren’t, we’d write about them anyway.
