RIM demonstrates how simple a social media policy can be
Corporate Social Media Case Study: RIM
RIM’s Inside BlackBerry blog has one of the more refreshingly plain-English social media policies we’ve seen. The blog is all about giving internal experts a platform to discuss what they’re working on in a casual, “check this out” tone, and their “About” policy reflects this.
In a brief summary that periodically links to more specific rules and regulations, their policy covers what the blog is about, what it’s not about, and closes with a “We’re new to this” section, saying: “And as you can imagine, it takes a while for a company to change. We appreciate your support and feedback to help us get it right.”

Disclosure: RIM is a Social Media Business Council Member (and an awesome one at that!), but even if they weren’t we’d write about them anyway.
