Sony brings the conversation into their own backyard
Corporate Social Media Case Study: Sony
Realizing that a lot of conversations were already taking place about Sony’s brand and its products, the company decided to offer their own social networking platform to bring the conversation “to their own backyard.”
Sony plans to use the site to engage directly with customers about their products, industry trends and any other issues that might interest Sony’s fans — as well as allowing participants to create their own profiles, upload content and network with one another.
In an interview with DMNews, Sony corporate communications spokesperson Marcy Cohen said, “This is such a new space, and I’ve talked to a lot of other companies doing this, and we are all just experimenting. We are learning what works for our customers. In an economy like this, it is a cost-effective way of getting very direct feedback.”
