When Graco recently launched a voluntary recall of more than a million of their strollers, their communications team — led by Kelly Voelker, brand manager of public relations and social media — proactively engaged their customers via social media.
By 7 AM on the morning of the recall, Graco’s team was helping customers on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and their corporate blog. Going beyond blasting links and official information, Kelly’s team frequently helped customers on an individual basis with step-by-step instructions and feedback.

This is why I HATE being an "American" – we came here and stole the land from the people who had it first – spread disease – and now we want to regulate who can and cannot come into this country. We have wipped ENTIRE tribes of people out with disease that we brought with us – then we rounded up those that were left and stuck them on "reservations" and gave them trailers and said here be happy were "giving" you this land. This truely makes me sick to my stomach that we our government can’t help our own people while we are helping other countries with millions possibly billions of dollars in government aide. I too have Native American blood in me, but then again alot of the Native/First Nation people didn’t have a choose but to "breed" with the "pale faces" (to quote Jacob Black), it was the only way to keep there family alive. I have it on both sides but not enough to claim it – but that’s not even my point!! My Uncle (by marriage) is full blooded Cherokkee and his family lives in poverty in NC – having to turn to selling drugs to make a living – its just wrong!! I have always been against the treatment of Native/First Nation people and is one of the main reason I hate to call myself an "American" even though I was not one of the Pilgrims to come over and steal the land I still have some of them in my genes. Americans have this higher then though attitude about them and anyone different from them doesn’t deserve the time of time. We liars and thiefs!!
OK I’m done! Sorry I soo had to get that off my chest!!
I signed my letter and made a donation!

Note the link on their site that allows you to send emails/letters to your state representatives regarding this issue. It took less than 60 seconds to fill it out!
I have great respect for the native tribes in my state, and would hope that our representatives would speak out in a similar manner.
Imagine if more time in DC was spent discussing legitimate needs like this; no hidden attachments and agendas.

Unfortunately what the US government is doing is so surprise to me. I live on the Tuscarora Nation near Niagara Falls NY and I’ve heard this all my life. I’m glad it’s being brought to light by some of my favorite people and hopefully it gets the attention it deserves. Its about time the US government gave something back!

There are too many people suffering right here in America. I agree. While it is understandable and noble that we wish to help other nations, we need to focus on ourselves first. That is all I will say because I know that I will get too angry to stop and this is where I come to feel happy.

I agree there is no “true” freedom in the world. We are all controlled. We need laws and regulations or there would be chaos. There is always a black, dark, dirty side and white, bright, clean side and yes sometimes there is gray. I am of Native American descent but I am from not from just one tribal nation but many and each is so water down with my Irish, Walsh, English, French, German, Russian, and Scottish Polish and so on. I am proud of my heritage. My paternal side has more Native American blood. There is a story that is pass on from generation to generation of my great-great-great-great great don’t know how many greats grandmother who was part of a tribe nation in PA was raped by a “white man” in front of her husband, her children and her tribe during raid by the French during the French Indian War. She became with child and that’s who my family and I descent from. There are so many tales of “white woman” being taken by Native Americans and never returning in our history books and being taught in our history course but stories like my great——–great grandmother are being omitted from these courses and books. Most of time we are only getting taught one sided history. And with history there are multiple sides. I am proud to be an American because even though there is no “true” freedom we still have more than most in the world. At the same time I regret the decisions of the past and present. The US government, our government should be helping those who live here legally first whether they are Native American, Black, Asian, Hispanic, White and etc. They need to hurry the f*** up and help Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. $h*t like this pisses me off.
Sorry for the rant. It seems to be a daily thing on here for me.
I too my letter and made a donation. ready for the mail tomorrow.

Wow!! Some of you guys are really angry. I can’t speak from what you all have experienced personally, but I can tell you from my personal experience that I feel my family has been treated pretty well. My husband is half Native American. Some of the perks for his tribe, if you would call them that, are: 100% free college tuition, quarterly checks, free acres of land and various loan program perks. That’s what I know about. There is probably a lot more that I’m just not aware of. As I am as white as they come our son is only 1/4 Native American and retains all the same perks if he were to choose to participate.
These benefits are set up to filter all the way down to those that are 1/8 Native American. That means that my grandchildren can have free college tuition!! Not everyone can say that. Maybe I’m just a glass-half-full kind of person, but I just respectfully don’t feel the same as everyone else.

I’m with you, too, LWNV. –Haven’t logged in for quite a while, but as soon as I read this I knew I had to comment to help provide a voice to this cause and to this post, as well.
I hope we will all do what we can to help. I clicked on the link that Jaypat provided above, found the letter to send to Congress, signed it and sent it right off to the congressmen and woman representing my state.

Native American are US citizen (US GOV. made this decision in 1924, much to many Native American surprise) and they are entitled to rights as citizen. This just start a major discussion in class.

There is nothing on that website that indicates the organization was set up just to assist Native Americans. With that said and with the assumption that the following statement from the website is a broad, generalized statement, I have to say – no thank you.
"We must join together to bring a GLOBAL SOCIETY founded on respect for nature, universal human rights, economic justice and a culture of peace." [emphasis mine]
On its face, I agree with the premise of shifting the power back to the people; after all, that was how this country was founded. But unfortunately, we are too far gone in many respects to ever truly get back the power that should be ours. That said, I believe that Native Americans should be allowed to exercise far more rights than they are currently. It’s a travesty.
But since I come here to feed my Twilight fix and I don’t want to get all political, I’ll leave it at that.

Yes, they are so awesome. I am so proud of them to step up and do this. Shows what great character they all have.
We all need to go to this site and to send an email to our congressmen, and if possible, pay $9.00 to have letters mailed in our names.
The Sioux are a beautiful people, who have been mistreated time and time again by our government. So wrong…
I have gone to the site and sent in my emails, and forwarded the info to 4 other friends, so that maybe they will sign, too. I challenge all of my fellow Twifans to do the same.
And just as a side… Chaske has an AWESOME voice. Very sexy…I wish he talked more in NM…

i know! their born in poverty, live in poverty, and die in poverty! how the **** are they supposed to pick up the pieces when the government won’t help and isolates them from white america?!
pisses me off! sure they have their land back but it only accounts for less than 1 percent of what their ancestors had!
This comment was originally posted on Eclipse Movie
exactly. we don’t even help ourselves and those who aren’t native americans. you know how many homeless people there are in the great US of A?? 8 million i believe! and its only gotten worse since the recession started 2 years ago!

well they don’t want money but if they need it i’ll gladly send a dollar. its all i can afford sadly.
i already signed the letter to my congressmen.
sometimes it pisses me off there are more comments in other posts but way less in these kinds where we should help and focus most of our positive energy in worthy causes. i don’t mean to offend anyone i just wonder how many people actually read this and do something about it?

they didnt just spread disease but kicked them out of their own lad and put them somewhere else while raping and beating those on the way. its called the trail of tears.

without the attachments and agendas added on bills, things would be passed much more slowly. did you know they add in stuff that most congressmen dont agree with into bill at the last minute when no one has read it? cos most dont read the whole bill cos their like bibles! so when they pass a bill and realize something else was added and passed their like: wtf? i dont remember reading that. oops.
i hate the fact that the way we live everything has to be done yesterday!
