Tracking your companies "return on influence"

Marc van Bree, of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, discusses the metrics of blogging and social media. According to Marc, “First, an organization needs to find out what it is trying to accomplish. Are you spreading a message, building a community, raising awareness, forging relationships? From there, find out what to measure.” Marc outlines several “metric” areas to track:

  • Activity
  • Community
  • Conversation
  • Participation
  • Connectedness
  • Content

Thanks for the shout-out! Would love to hear any feedback or comments, as I’m no expert by any means. Kami’s post was tremendously helpful and shed a bit of a different light on the topic. Thanks again!

    Marc,

No problem, we are always looking for interesting posts on corporate social media/blogging. The Blog Council is currently working on best practices for blogging metrics. We plan to release these best practices in the next several weeks. I’ll make sure we reach out to you upon the release.

    Regards,
    Phil
