NHL uses Twitter lists to help fans connect

November 18, 2009

Corporate Social Media Case Study: The NHL

Using Twitter’s latest feature, lists, the NHL is asking fans to tweet them with their favorite team to add them to special team lists. Lists are groups of Twitter users that anyone can create and can be followed by other Twitter users with a single click.

NHL’s lists make it easy for fans to find fellow fans on Twitter, as well as follow relevant conversations about their favorite teams. Since starting the project earlier this month, the NHL has listed more than 1,000 of their followers on over 20 individual team lists.
