Survey analyzes top goals for brands engaging in social media

PowerReviews and the e-tailing group‘s 1st Annual Community and Social Media Survey released earlier this fall finds the average brand’s top three goals for using social media to be:

  1. Creating customer engagement
  2. Driving word of mouth
  3. Increasing brand loyalty

The survey also found that 61% of participants believe customer reviews are the most important factor driving customer engagement, while 78% believe customer reviews are the most important social tools driving sales.

The report also predicts that by the fourth fiscal quarter in 2010, 70% of social media tools will be in use by 50% or more brands.
