The Big Idea: Sean Cheyney, AccuQuote

Sean Cheney of AccuQuote appreciates being surprised by those who secure life insurance policies through his company.

As director of marketing and business development, Cheyney recently asked AccuQuote clients in an email how else the company could serve them. Expecting to be inundated with more financial services requests, Cheyney learned that AccuQuote clients were also interested in better access to legal and accounting services and even restaurant and flower discounts. Who knew?

“This helped to streamline our other benefit offerings,” he explains, adding that at virtually no cost AccuQuote obtained “tens of thousands of dollars worth of focus groups.”

Having built AccuQuote’s marketing department from the ground up, Cheyney understands that social media is all about serving the customer.

“Our customers love it when we ask them how we can show our appreciation,” he said.
