Social Media Business Council Member Meeting 6
Registration is open for our sixth Member Meeting in Minneapolis on August 12th (the day before BlogWell Minneapolis at General Mills).
Morning Discussion
This meeting’s big morning discussion: Crisis Management & Social Media. We’ve all seen the headlines from Motrin, Domino’s Pizza, General Motors, and United Airlines. How would we respond to breaking news or a sabotage attack? Everyone should be prepared to handle a public relations crisis. Our morning conversation will focus on planning for the worst, covering best practices for:
- Making plans to deal with a crisis
- Preparing staff to properly respond
- What forms of outreach to use, when
- Internal communications
- Dealing with Legal
As a group, we’ll discuss the best practices that lead to success in each of these categories, and what pitfalls to avoid.
Afternoon Breakouts
In the afternoon, we have simultaneous breakout sessions of 45 minutes each, a chance to take a bite out of issues that matter to you. Topics include:
- B-to-B social media strategies
- Internal communications via social media
- Building a social media team
- Dealing with detractors
- Imagining corporate social media in 2014. What’s next?
See the full list of topics on the agenda page.
So Much More
- Member exclusive roundtable with Cali Ressler and Jody Thompson, founders of the ROWE system and authors of Why Work Sucks.
- A private dinner that night at Vincent – A Restaurant
- Face-to-face networking with your fellow Council members
As our meetings continue to grow in size, we will cap this and future Council meetings at 50 attendees, 2 representatives per company. This should allow more companies to participate at more frequent meetings. To reserve your space, please register as soon as possible.
